The White Shadow

« Art is what makes Life more interesting than Art. » Robert Filliou

More than a creation, a bodies conversation, the danced one, moved by the memory of a old woman, giver of an urgent message aimed at the youth, the agitated one, both happy and scary, in the thick of this fortuitous encounter, the observing one, worried and amused by the spontaneous overcoming of cultural and mental barriers that occurs spontaneously. They will all remain fascinated by this half-ghostly half-familiar funny apparition who speaks to them of Unity, Humanity and Joy. This moment combining shadow theatre and butoh is a premise of the rural area art project that I would like to achieve.

Plus qu’une création, un dialogue entre corps, celui qui est dansé, mû par la mémoire d’une vieille dame, passeur d’un message urgent à destination des jeunes, celui qui s’agite, heureux et effrayé à la fois, dans le vif de cette rencontre fortuite, celui qui observe, inquiet et amusé du dépassement des barrières culturelles et mentales qui s’impose spontanément. Ils resteront tous fascinés par cette comique apparition mi-fantomatique mi-familière qui leur parle d’Unité, d’Humanité et de Joie. Ce moment associant théâtre d’ombres et butô est une prémisse du projet d’art en zone rurale que j’aimerais réaliser.
